★ Folkmore Roles & Attributes ★
Skills: Maleficent has quite a bit of experience in battle and is a capable hand-to-hand combatant. She's got quite a lot of knowledge of herbs, spices, and flora.
Canon Abilities: Magic, just a lot of magic. She's capable of wielding magic that includes magic over: life, death, destruction, and rebirth (for herself only), telekinesis, manipulating the elements, transfiguration, energy manipulation/projection, healing injuries on others, telepathy, hypnosis, spell casting, curse creating/breaking (except her own super curse haha...), superhuman strength/durability/healing, and her wings produce intensely powerful gusts of wind.
Role: Myth
Role Qualities/Attributes: She's already got quite a few of the physical traits of a myth but she'll also find herself sprouting a long thing black tail with a pointed end
Role Reasoning: While Maleficent could fit into either a Legend role or a Myth role, at her current canon point she's firmly found herself in myth territory. She's decided to embrace her status as the 'Mistress of Evil' and is on the brink of flying to war with the humans. Part of her reasoning for this is the purely selfish hurt that came from feeling as though she'd once again been betrayed by someone she loved. She has quite the cruel streak when she's hurt, she's fairly inconsiderate to the feelings of others (particularly humans), and balks at the idea of governmental authority or any attempts to control her.
★ Personality ★

OPTION 2 QUESTIONS (PICK 4-5) 100-300 WORD LIMIT EACH:
By far the most traumatic thing that she's experienced was the betrayal of Stefan. They met as children and became lovers only for him to leave as he became more and more obsessed with finding power in the human world. When he finally returned to her, she was thrilled to see him, only to realize too late that he'd only come to kill her. He drugged her and cut off her wings to earn his king's favor. Not only was this intensely traumatic as it happened in an intimate moment with the two of them, but it was intensely painful for her. She was left unable to fly, something that further traumatized her, and from that moment forward she created a wall around both herself and the Moors. She was filled with anger, pain, hurt, and it blinded her to most other emotions. Even after she accepted her love for Aurora and regained her wings she still massively struggles with the idea of 'true love' and has a mistrust bordering on disdain for humans.
Aurora is by far the most important relationship in her life followed by Diaval. Originally she cursed Aurora as a way to get revenge against Stefan (Aurora's father), but something stirred in her when she saw her alone as a helpless baby. She began to help her in secret along with Diaval and her attachment grew just as Aurora grew. Aurora's presence in her life allowed her hatred to finally subside to some degree and it opened her heart ever so slightly to the idea that perhaps love wasn't entirely awful. She's fiercely protective of Aurora and equally protective of her status as her 'mother'. Aurora is also one of the few people able to calm her rage down and at least get her to attempt to play nice with others.
Diaval is a close second in both those respects though. Originally he was merely meant to be her wings, however over time he's grown into a companion that she truly treasures. He's someone she turns to for help when it comes to understanding the weird human conventions that she doesn't get and for help in protecting Aurora. He's also one of the few people who can tease her without facing some sort of major wrath.
Maleficent holds a grudge until the person she's holding it against dies. Or gets turned into a goat. Whichever. The grudge she held against Stefan was so intense that she was willing to make his daughter suffer because she thought that would hurt him more than his own suffering could. Not only that but she holds this grudge against all humans. Every instance that a human has shown even the slightest distrust of her just because she's magic or a shred of potential violence towards her kind, that grudge has only increased. In her own mind her grudge has become justified over the years both by what she's been told of humans and what she's seen of them.
The safest space that Maleficent has by far is the skies. When she's able to fly freely she feels entirely free and truly herself. When she speaks of flying and how it made her feel her voice has a true sense of purity and innocence to her. The loss of her wings was devastating to her because she lost the ability to soar in the sky and feel truly at peace. For the most part she refused to talk about the loss of her wings, even with Aurora she gave rather brief answers that revealed just how much she still struggled with the loss. Upon having her wings returned she spent a great deal of time frolicking in the skies, with a smile that actually made her seem truly and completely happy.
